The STEMpower Foundation is a youth-centered nonprofit initiative committed to empowering students through STEM education, mentorship, outreach, accessibility and leadership development across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
Founded by students with firsthand experience navigating the pressures and challenges of STEM education, the foundation was created to ensure that young people have access not only to academic opportunities, but also to encouragement, guidance, representation and community.
At STEMpower Foundation, we believe that STEM is more than a career pathway — it is a tool for empowerment, innovation, problem-solving and social impact. Our goal is to help students recognize their potential, build confidence in their abilities and pursue STEM with purpose.

STEMpower Foundation was born from a simple but powerful realization: many students are capable of succeeding in STEM, but too often lack the support systems, mentorship, exposure, or confidence needed to fully pursue their potential.
As students navigating demanding academic environments, leadership responsibilities, burnout, financial challenges and self-doubt, the founding board of STEMpower understood the importance of having encouragement, representation and access to opportunity.
The foundation was created to bridge those gaps through initiatives that combine STEM education with mentorship, resilience-building, accessibility advocacy and community outreach. What began as a vision to inspire students has grown into a movement focused on building a more inclusive, empowered and resilient generation of STEM leaders.

Across the Caribbean, many students possess the intelligence, creativity and ambition needed to succeed in STEM, yet barriers such as limited resources, lack of mentorship, self-doubt, underrepresentation and financial challenges continue to prevent many from fully pursuing their goals.
STEMpower Foundation exists to help remove those barriers. By combining education, mentorship, accessibility, leadership and encouragement, we aim to create spaces where students feel supported not only academically, but personally.
